Anchen Pharmaceuticals (Taiwan), Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anchen, Inc. Anchen Taiwan has two operating units: an R&D unit located in the Neihu district of Taipei, and a production unit located in Chung-Li, Taiwan. The R&D unit in Neihu was formerly named, Empax Pharma Inc.; a firm first established in 1997 as a contract research laboratory of oral drug delivery systems servicing local drug companies. Empax and Anchen completed a merger in 2006.
